Tokyo City View (52nd floor, Mori Tower, Roppongi Hills) will host “The Galaxy Express 999” 50th Anniversary Project Leiji Matsumoto Exhibition -Journey of Creation from Friday, June 20 through Sunday, September 7, 2025. This is the first large-scale posthumous exhibition of Leiji Matsumoto’s work. During his lifetime, Matsumoto created many masterpieces such as Galaxy Express 999 and Space Pirate Captain Harlock. In this exhibition, you can view more than 300 original drawings, including early works, materials on display for the first time, and precious memorabilia, alongside the magnificent megapolis backdrop as seen from Tokyo City View. We will interpret the skills and influence of Leiji Matsumoto as an artist who continued to express his unique worldview in the two fields of manga and anime, and the message he has entrusted to the future through his creative activities spanning over more than 70 years.
