Christmas in the Sky 2020

2020.11.28 [Sat] - 12.25 [Fri]

“Christmas in the Sky 2020”
For this event, we’ve prepared a variety of items to liven up your Christmas, including the nighttime view from the Sky Deck, music, lights that flicker in resonance with illuminations, a special night sky and star gazing event, an exquisite Christmas menu and much more!

Our annual “Christmas Star Gazing Party” will be held on the Rooftop Sky Deck. Beginning with watching the nighttime skies, this event brings to you a special Christmas to spend in different ways, in a space that warms your heart and resonates with all your senses, enveloped by the scenery, music and flickering lights. At Restaurant THE MOON on the 52nd floor, we’ve prepared an exquisite Christmas menu just for you. Also, THE PROMISED NEVERLAND SPECIAL EXHIBITION will be running at the Sky Gallery located within the Indoor Observation Deck on the 52nd floor this year. Visitors can enjoy the exhibition while taking in the view from the observatory. We hope you’ll take this opportunity to fully enjoy this heartwarming “Christmas in the Sky 2020,” in just the way you like.

Christmas Star Gazing Party

Roppongi Tenmon (Astronomy) Club will be organizing a special Christmas Star Gazing Party during the two days of Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25, 2020. Astronomy experts will be on hand to explain about the endless array of twinkling winter stars that dot the Tokyo nightscape. The stars of “Cygnus,” a summer constellation that stands out on the western horizon are called the Northern Cross because of their shape. It could be said that the shape of this large cross offers us a lineup of stars appropriate for Christmas. Looking to the eastern skies, we can also find winter stars of the first magnitude called the “Winter’s Diamond.” Right above your head is the double star Almach, the star system for couples; you’ll be able to see these two stars snuggled close together if you view them with a telescope. Find these two stars with someone you care about - the space between you will draw even closer. The Sky Deck is your special seat in Tokyo for viewing the winter sky of sparkling stars with that someone special. Why not come for a visit?
